Dealing with Florida high temperatures and humidity tends to be unpredictable. While we plan on participation in events during the Fall, Winter and Spring, months if conditions of high humidity occur, we may have to refrain from attendance.
UPCOMING FUN EVENTS: The following is a list of Special Events that GPA will be participating during the next couple of months. Please mark your calendars.
October 16-17 (10-5) Cocoa Village Craft Fair Held in the historic Cocoa Village, this venue has been the origin of many greyhound adoptions. Please spare some time and help promote greyhound adoption with you greyhound. Let’s show the public how responsible greyhound owners are. Please contact Vicki Smith at 321-632-3502 or email her at greyladie@cfl.rr.com. October 22 —TitusNites - Mariner Way in downtown Titusville (6-9). Come out an mingle with your hound. October 30 — Fall Festival (10-2) — Center at Suntree, 6300 N. Wickham Road. The shopping center comes alive with activity. An estimated 2,000 attend this event. It should be a greyt place to promote greyhound adoption. Naturally it will have a Halloween Theme. Contact Vicki Smith at 321-632-3502 or email at greyladie@cfl.rr.com. November 6, Satellite Beach Founders Day (9-4) This event is held at the David R. Schechter Community Center, 1089 S. Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach. This fun event allows us to bring greyhound and promote greyhound adoption. GPA will have a small sale table set up with hand crafted goodies and greyhound calendars. The theme for this event is “Fall Fiesta”. There will be craft booths, flea market, festival food, bake sale and music. December 3—TitusNites—Get in the Holiday Spirit in Downtown Titusville (6-9) December 4-5 (10-5) Cocoa Village Craft Fair Holiday festivities will be in full swing. This special Arts & Craft Fair will feature special Christmas items and vendors. GPA will have an informational table set up and needs help promoting greyhound adoption. PETsMART - Melbourne PETsMART - Vero Beach PETCO - Viera PETCO- Titusville On Saturday or Sunday, when possible Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about greyhounds that we have available for adoption. This is a great opportunity to see what loving pets these retired racers make. We always need volunteers for these events. Please consider spending some time with your hounds and helping GPA. These volunteers have completed a Foster Home Seminar and are the backbone of GPA. We are proud of our families who work with the greys and see them through their spay/neuter operation and help acclimate the greys to home life.
